Did you hear the News about YamChops?

Did you hear the news!!

YamChops Toronto's own Veg. Butcher has made a deal on Dragons Den!!

Don't know What a YamChop is? YamChops is Canada's first and only vegetarian butcher shop located right here in Toronto!! They offer plant-based protein alternatives, fresh prepared foods, and serve their own organic cold pressed juices. They have eat-in and take-out options as well as catering and some home delivery.

I recently was invited to join in the festivities and I'm so happy I jumped on the opportunity as they had sold out the venue in less than 1 day. We were all invited to watch the airing of the show together at the Revue Theater in Toronto. YamChops fed as a scrumptious dinner and we all anxiously waited to see the outcome of the show. Not only did we receive dinner but so many of Yamchops supporter donated goodies for the attendees to take home with them in a gift bag.

Anna Starostinetskaya of VegNews wrote "YamChops receives $250K on Canadian investment reality show to help the vegan butcher franchise.

Canadian vegan butcher company YamChops recently appeared on Canadian television program Dragon’s Den—similar to American investment reality show Shark Tank—and gained its requested funding of $250,000, which will go toward franchising the shop. During the episode, YamChops family-founders Michael, Tori, Leia, and Jess Abramson set up a deli case and lured several dragons (investors) to sample their offerings. The Ontario-based shop opened in 2014 and—in addition to distributing to local retailers—sells innovative meat-free items such as coconut bacon, beet burgers, carrot lox, and chik’n parm. This investment speaks to the viability of redefining butcher culture with a vegan spin, a concept also reflected by the explosive buzz around the recent opening of America’s first vegan butcher shop The Herbivorous Butcher. Furthermore, investment-themed reality shows have helped to jumpstart several vegan companies such as cheese makers Heidi Ho, bakery Cinnaholic, and most-recently honey alternative Bee Free Honee."

Not only is Michael Abramson the Father behind the YamChops family he is also a Director at my favorite place to be Wishing Well Sanctuary - A vegan for over 40 years, Michael’s passion for a plant-based lifestyle continues to grow with his recent opening of YamChops – vegetarian butcher and prepared foods shop in June 2014. Michael, a plant-based chef with certifications from the Cordon Vert Cookery School, American Culinary Academy and Rouxbe Cooking School, formerly owned an advertising agency (theadlibgroup) for 27 years with his wife Toni.

I want to congratulate YamChops, Michael, Toni, Leia and Jess for their achievement and past achievements, you are an inspiration to all of us at Aurora's Animal Rights Advocates!!
