AARA April Newsletter

Hello Everyone!! I hope you are doing well! Spring has sprung, rain is falling and green is starting to emerge from the ground! Warm weather is right around the corner and AARA can't wait to get more active!

First of all I want to say my

THANK YOU'S :

I want to thank Siva, Johnny, Janette and Sonit for helping on Meatout Day. We were able to handout over 350 Vegan Starter Kits and other vegan information.

I want to thank all those who attended the Wildlife Symposium on the 31st. We learned a lot about how our local wildlife and how is in danger from poachers. Wildlife trafficking is the 4th most lucrative illegal trade estimated to be worth $30 billion a year. We were able to speak to a MNRF officer who said she would love to come speak for our group sometime.

This past March we had several animal rescues, and I want to thank everyone who was involved!! And I thank anyone who has helped an animal in the past have a better life, or find its way.

Janette Lee was part of a Rabbit Rescue that helped save 3 rabbits that were abandoned in a parking lot. Read more

The Toronto Pig Save group was busy speaking to local slaughter houses and was able to rescue a Mother Goat now named Lily (Read more) and Lamb now named Ooby (Read more). Both are now living on a sanctuary in Brampton.

And a Huge Thank you to my Monthly Donors you help keep this group going, you allow us to spread compassion for animals, you make it possible to host events, and you help new people to find their way and join us. Without you the group would not be able to continue to grow.

If you would like to become a monthly donor or would like to send a donation there are several options, Paypal, Patreon, Gofundme, E Transfers, or bring to any AARA Event a check made out to Aurora's Animal Rights Advocates (send email for mailing address).

He was five weeks old; he had been taken from his mother and was completely alone. Britches’ eyes were sewn shut and a device strapped to his head that emitted a high-pitched screech every few minutes. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

AARA NEWS :

I would like to introduce some familiar AARA faces. These VIP's have stepped up to help the group and have joined me on the AARA Directors Team.

Janette Lee - Animal Rescuer and AARA Director.

Janette has been an animal lover her whole life with a special place for dogs in her heart. This lead her to animal rights activism and animal rescue. She currently shares her home with her 2 dogs Nahla & Emma. Janette is dedicated to helping end suffering for all animals.

Kyle Bowles - Urban Ecosystems Wild Life Refuge Founder and AARA Director.

Kyle has been vegan since 2008 and has had a strong passion for wildlife since he was small. Kyle lives on the Oak Ridges Moraine and has been horrified by the constant development and destruction of nature. So Kyle determined to make positive change started The Urban Ecosystems imitative – using old agricultural land located in the greenbelt region and a tree seedling wholesaler – he’s combined these two resources to create an initiative to allow people in urban centres to more easily create natural green space and biological habitat in urban areas.

Nagaratnam Sivarama (Siva) - Animal Rights Activist and AARA Director.

Nagaratnam Sivarama, Siva, was born in Sri Lanka and came to Canada in his 40's.
