Janette Lee to the Rescue

" I’m grateful for true animal lovers – because of people who care, there is a happy ending to this story.

Last Wednesday, Mandi Howard alerted the Save Response Team about two domesticated bunnies that were dumped off and abandoned somewhere in a Malvern neighbourhood. She wasn’t able to catch them and had to leave the country the next day.

Since I have no experience with bunnies, I reached out to Dancing Rabbit Refuge part of the Ontario Rabbit Welfare Network, who very kindly connected me to a number of rescuers who are bunny experts. One of them, Gayle Taylor went out on Thursday afternoon and was able to catch one of the buns (a boy) and saved him. As a group, we went out again on Saturday morning. After some searching and waiting, the other bunny (a girl) came hopping along, and together we were able to coax the third one into the carrier with treats. They are both now safe with Gayle, getting loving care and waiting to be adopted.

If anyone is interested in giving one or both a good home, please contact Gayle Taylor at Dancing Rabbit Refuge.

A huge thank you to Mandi Howard, Gayle Taylor, Christine Ford (and her partner), Elaine Cooper, Tasha Welch, Michele Welch and Lisa Bruce from Dancing Rabbit Refuge. Really grateful that they all jumped into action and gave this story a hoppy ending." Janette Lee
